Project Summary

For the data centre migration and consolidation, Inspire were asked to provide a team of IBM certified experts in Clustered HA AIX Servers, IBM Virtualised Storage, backup technology, and supply a French-speaking team in Paris.

Background

The project involved the consolidation of SAP Global Core systems worldwide data centres into one single data centre (dual site) with one provider. Inspire were engaged on a Sunday afternoon; within three days of receiving the initial brief, and deployed an initial team of high-level IBM certified consultants into Paris to augment and later take a leadership role.

    This multi-million transformation program was based on the following streams:

    • Data centre build and configuration
    • EMEA environments migration• APAC environments migration
    • AMERICAS environments migration
    • DRP (dual site) implementation and tests
    • Service delivery management - implementation of a 24x7 service delivery model including ITIL processes, tools, reporting, and resource units model.

    The delivery of the end-to-end IBM AIX and virtualised storage “stack” was the platform for the new data centres. Inspire also provided a high level team of IBM certified consultants, storage SMEs and IBM AIX SMEs.

    Inspire resolved a large number of incidents, and advised about numerous service improvements, as well as rolling out new hardware and software, often beyond the working day in Paris.
