Managed data backup and recovery service: delivery of a 24x7 on-site service to manage backup environment from tape library to Iron Mountain off siting of tapes.
The Linde Group is a multinational industrial gases and engineering company with approximately 50,500 employees working in more than 100 countries worldwide. T-Systems and Linde AG signed a seven year contract for a pan-European data centre and storage services. Within the scope of the outsourcing contract, TSystems were utilised to consolidate Linde's data centres in Munich, Stockholm, and Guildford (UK) as well as its own data centre in Munich.
Many of Linde’s IT services were migrated to T-Systems’ Cloud delivery platform, with the exception of the BOCLinde data centre in Guildford, where the UK data backups were created and managed.
Inspire provided a 24x7 managed service to ensure the 100% performance of the ageing tape library to archive process, which was earmarked for transformation to T-Systems’ own solution in the next 12 months.
Inspire deployed a team who delivered the service for 18 months, with a 100% SLA. At the completion of this period, the data centre in Guildford was closed and moved to Munich as part of the original strategic plan.
